Krishna Maharjan is Secretary General of Disability Empowerment Society Nepal and a technology and accessibility professional working at the intersection of disability inclusion, digital accessibility and inclusive digital transformation. He has led initiatives focused on accessible public systems, disability data and digital inclusion in collaboration with local governments in Nepal. His work includes the scaling of a digital disability assessment and recording system supported by the APNIC Foundation through ISIF Asia. He also works on emerging technologies and their implications for accessibility, participation and economic opportunities for persons with disabilities.

Disability Empowerment Society Nepal is a disability-focused organization working to advance the rights, participation and inclusion of persons with disabilities in Nepal. DESN works across digital accessibility, accessible public services, inclusive education, community-based rehabilitation, capacity building and disability-inclusive local governance. It collaborates with municipalities, schools, organizations of persons with disabilities and development partners to develop practical and scalable models of inclusion. DESN is currently scaling an accessible digital disability assessment and recording system across municipalities with support from the APNIC Foundation through ISIF Asia.
