Maharshi Vasihnav is the first externally appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Motilal Oswal Foundation. He was appointed to lead the Foundation into its next phase, following a landmark commitment by Motilal Oswal Group promoters Mr. Motilal Oswal and Mr. Raamdeo Agrawal to pledge 10% of their equity in the Group towards philanthropy.

As CEO, Maharshi is committed to identifying some of the most pressing human needs in Bharat and backing institutions, leaders, and innovations that can address them with integrity, rigour, and lasting impact.

Prior to joining the Motilal Oswal Foundation, Maharshi served as Chief Executive Officer of Educate Girls. During his tenure, the organisation crossed the milestone of enrolling more than two million out-of-school girls and expanded its work across more than 40,000 villages in rural India. He led a team of over 3,000 employees and raised more than $150 million to advance the organisation’s mission and scale its impact.

Maharshi holds graduate degrees in Public Policy and Business.
